November 2006 Meeting Minutes

The meeting on November 2nd was called to order at 7:06 p.m. by President Roger Dougan. Guests and members introduced themselves to the group.

 

Program

 

We had a wonderful in-depth and eye opening presentation by Paula Johnson of Habitat for Horses/Lone Star Horse Rescue.

 

Club Business

 

Minutes from the previous meeting were approved as printed in the HAT Chat due to time constraints. The Treasurer’s report was approved as presented by Jenni Dougan.

 

Committee Reports:

·         Scholarship Committee – no report due to time constraints.

·         Show Committee – no formal report; Robin Chouteau, volunteering to fill in for Sheila Johnson as she continues to recover from her recent illness, was unable to attend.

 

Old Business:

·         Adult Riding Clinic Report – There were 6 attendees at the adult riding clinic on October 21st. Gerry Snipes did a wonderful job of teaching us more riding techniques. All money collected goes toward the HAT Scholarship fund.

·         Mare and Foal Clinic will be held January 4th in conjunction with the Grayson County Extension Office. Kathy Bagnell will be interviewing caterers for this event.

 

New Business

·         Officer and Board of Director Elections

The following individuals were elected as officers for 2007:

President – Sandra Shiver

Vice President – Robin Chouteau

2nd Vice President – Kathy Bagnell

Secretary – Donna Franus

Treasurer – Jenni Dougan

The following individuals were elected to the Board of Directors:

Roger Dougan

Rick Fehr

Paul Johnson

Mike Scully

Gerry Snipes

·         December Christmas Pot Luck Dinner will be held December 7th at 7p.m. Please bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy sharing your horse stories with other horse people!

·         Executive Meeting – an Executive Meeting was tentatively set for November 28th at 7pm, pending confirmation the meeting room was available.

 

The meeting was adjourned and HAT Chats were handed out for distribution to the surrounding communities.
