April 2008 Meeting

President Sandra
Shiver called the meeting on April 3rd to order at 7:15pm. Guest
Paul Richards introduced himself to the group and became an active member by
the end of the meeting.

Treasurer’s Report - Report prepared by Jenni Dougan was
approved as presented by Sandra. Trailer tags have been purchased.
Scholarship
Report – Sandra Shiver, Scholarship Chair, reported the receipt of four
scholarship applications to date with the deadline of April 12th for
submissions.
Old Business:

April
show final details were discussed with plans to meet at Crossfire Arena on Friday,
April 19th, at 6 PM to set up for the show. Everyone is encouraged
to solicit class sponsorships for this and the upcoming shows.

The
Adult Horsemanship Series with Mick Clark begins May 24th and will
be held at Mr. Clark’s on
·
Sandra
reported for Debby Van Nurden that Debby is waiting
for response from Troy McKinney regarding freeze branding dates. Anyone
interested in having their horses or ponies branded should contact Debby.

Mike
Scully set Sunday, April 20th, as a casual trail ride date. The ride
will be hosted by Robin & Mike Chouteau beginning at 2 PM. Membership is
required and available at the ride.
New Business:
·
Sandra
brought materials to make signs to help make the new show arena setup easy to
understand for exhibitors. Gerry Snipes
volunteered to make the signs.
·
Mike Scully
and new member, Paul Richards, formed a sign committee to make some fabulous
and permanent direction signs for the shows.
Mike Bernier
arrived near the close of the meeting with HAT Chats for distribution.
Due to severe
storm predictions that evening, attendance was minimal. Those who were able to
make the meeting were entertained by a brilliant yet threatening thunder and
lightening show from the second floor of the Courthouse! Meeting was adjourned
before 9 PM.
